I don't have a digital camera or access to download a pic on the internet but I have a beautiful digital photo of my rosebush that I'd like to add to the PDB. Is there any way I can just send in the photo?

Do you have a scanner? It can be scanned into the computer and done that way.
If all else fails you could mail it to someone here and they could scan it in and send it to you via e/mail then you could post it in the database that way.

Mollybee is correct - the easiest/fastest way is for you to digitize your images. If you don't have a scanner, most of the photo-processing labs (Wal-Mart, Walgreens, Fox Photos, etc.) can do it for you. If you don't live close enough to a photo processing place, there are places online you can send your pictures or negatives (such as Snapfish); they'll send you back a CD or store the images on their site in a personal "shoebox" where you can retrieve them and do whatever you want to, including submitting some of them to the Plants Database.

No, I don't have a scanner either! I don't even have a home PC!!! I know I need to get in the 21st century. I am blessed to be able to use my comp. at work on my job, but we only have web access- no fringes. Would someone be willing to do it for me if I sent it in? It is truly a beautiful photo of my gorgeous rose and I guess I'm proud and wanna show it off!!

berrygirl, in your first post you say you have "a beautiful digital photo of my rosebush" - is that right? Is it on a floppy disk or a CD? If you can take it to work or wherever it is you access Dave's Garden, you can upload it directly to the database or the photos forum. You don't need to post it on a website and link to it, if that's what you're thinking. When you get to the spot to upload an image, just browse to the drive the photo is in.

MartyJo, the pic was taken and given to me by someone else. I can't do anything on my comp. except surf the web. Anything else will shut our printers down. Our comps. are set up as point of sale only so we can't do anything else. Can't you tell by my lingo how computer savvy I am. I just have the actual photo.

Okay, then we're back to what MOLLYBEE suggested. If you want to e-mail me from my user's homepage, I'd send you my snail mail address and then you could mail me the photo. I could scan it and post it for you - or e-mail you the file to post yourself. It would take a little while, but if you wnat to do it, I'm game.
