Those cyclamen are just lovely! What a stunning underplanting they must make. I would just love to have some in my garden. I was so happy to hear that they come in hardy varieties. I think they will be next years first addition! Thanks for posting it.
wow, these are gorgeous. i've recently got a tiny pot to put on my window ledge. they're a joy to behold, esp when they just bloom overnight. but unfortunately, for reason unapparent, the new buds just started blackening & softening before wilting away. it started with new growths, then went on to affect the bigger buds. which upsets me immensely. at the same time, there are still flowers. now, im left to my last bloom with no more new growth. the leaves are perfectly all right though. ive checked for insect, i fertilise once a week. can you share some thoughts??
Possible you have a florist variety. These are hadry OUTDOOR cycleman. Sounds like they are either getting too much water, or you are over fertilizing them. Also they prefer a cool to almost cold temp. Not really a good house plant unless you live in an unheated building with good light. Good luck

I had some indoor florist ones that were just beautiful but then they started to die off too. I was really upset. I finally gave up pampering it and put it in the basement and forgot about it. Then one day several weeks or even months later, I happened across it in the basement and it was beginning to grow again! It went on the grow and bloom again! So I'm thinking that when the flowers die it needs some kind of rest period without any water or much light.
thank you for your reply. i do live in an unheated building, but it hardly gets below 60 degrees, so the temperature is fine. im only worried when it goes up beyond 90 degrees in summer. anyway, Wnstarr, you may be right about the over-watering. i learnt from Wingnut that the bulb where the stems emerge has to be uncovered & kept dry (for my florist variety), something i havent done, so im gonna try watering from underneath instead.
roshana, your story is quite funny! sometimes im tempted to just ignore my plants too when they act weird. did you really not water at all?? im going on vacation soon, and hope the plant is still alive when i return.
When it looked pretty dead, I did just quit watering it because I thought it was dead! My mistake! But a happy one, since I guess it just wanted to rest. Hope yours is fine over your vacation.
happy new year! im back fr vacation, and the 1st thing i did upon dropping the bags was to fly over to my plants! yes, not only did it survive, i've got some new tiny growths. very pleased feeling.
