Great photo! Is this a wild flower? I was surprised it was an astilbe. I planted some this year, but they are still very tiny and have yet to bloom. This one looks much larger than the pictures of the ones I planted. Thanks for posting it.
They come in all shapes and sizes. The foliage on this one gets about 2-2 1/2 ft. tall and the plumes were 4 to 4 1/2 ft. This is it's 3rd year in the ground from a bareroot plant. It isn't a wild flower. Think this variety came out 3 or 4 yrs. ago. I have about 8 other varieties like 'Ostrich Plume', Visions, Visions in red, sprite ...etc. Good luck with yours and enjoy!
