I live in the northeast Ft Worth, TX area. I have three Chinese Pistache trees planted by a subcontractor landscaping co. in the front of our house. They are about 15' tall and over probably more than 3 years old. Two of them have begun to sprout berry clusters at the top after leaves have turned bright orange. The leaves changed color about two weeks ago and are dropping leaving only the berry clusters. My neighbors have the same trees in front of their homes with only about 3 others doing the same as mine. The rest have deep green leaves and look normal. My concern is that it is only the last week in July. Although we have had about two weeks with high temperatures near 100 up to 102. Is this unusual or normal? I have been accused of not giving them enough water. I think not. What do you say?

The leaves on mine do not change color nor drop leaves until late fall. We have had high summer temperatures and the leaves have never dropped in the summer. I have no idea why yours are doing this. I think you have had plenty of rain as we have had this summer in San Antoio. I will have to research your problem and if I find a cause I will let you know.
