| Pride of Barbados, Red Bird of Paradise, Dwarf Poinciana, Peacock Flower, flamboyan-de-jardin
Caesalpinia pulcherrima
Seed pods at different stages of development in October. The seed pods twist as they dry, break at the seams and explode with a very loud pop dispersing the seeds. (San Antonio, Tx.)

| rylaff and sassytiger, my computer crashed and after working days on it I had to backup everything, wipe it out and start over. Thank goodness I am back up again. I will collect seeds and send them to you. No need to trade me seeds. I hope the seed pods have not opened and dispersed the seeds yet. We are going to have our first freeze tonight so I better go get them in a little while. You need to both email me your addresses please. |

| rylaff and sassytiger, the seed pods have already twisted, opened and dispersed the seeds. I will try to find some pods that have not opened on the southside of town where they mature slower. Cross your fingers. |

| Must have had your fingers crossed! I searched today and found a few seed pods not popped yet. I am going to have to let them dry and twist open before I send them. When they disperse the seeds, they do so with great force. My brother had some in his car on the dashboard. When they popped as he was driving, the noise was so loud that he thought someone was shooting at him and the seeds hit him in the face. |
