Supposed to bloom about Christmas time, I guess, but mine (potted and brought into greenhouse for winter) always blooms in November. Very pronounced golden stamens on a single flower.
I'm surprised no one commented on this thread. My husband presented me with a Camellia 'Yuletide' two years ago, and every winter I look forward to seeing the pretty blossoms. You're to be congratulated for a swell picture.
Thanks, Pat.
I wish mine would bloom a little later than it does, so that I could have it at Christmas...it usually is done sometime in November. I really love it, though. Mine is potted and is getting really big. I should start a cutting I guess and eventually get rid of the big plant. The dark glossy leaves are attractive all year, which is nice.
Hi Susan, I just purchased a large plant and will keep it potted. I love this camellia. I live in a RV and am retired. I sold many homes in my lifetime to move on. At each of these homes I planted this camellia and a Sweet Olive Tree. They are the loves of my life, second only to my grandchildren. I could look at your photo all day and if I could make a screensaver out of it I would. I thank you for having the website. Kathleen
