Chinese Witch Hazel, Chinese Fringe Flower, Pink Fringe Flower
Loropetalum chinense var. rubrum

Fringe flower leaves backlit with sunlight come alive with robust color. Even without its flowers, it provides constantly changing colors all year long with different colored leaves on the same plant. (San Antonio, Tx.)

The leaves appear differently at different times of the day depending upon the angle ot the sunlight. I tried to capture how they look when I think they are the most beautiful. The color of the foliage changes throughout the year. Thanks for your comment.

IN ALL THE GARDEN DESIGN LECTURES AND BOOKS THEY SPEAK OF "THE BONES OF THE GARDEN." IN MY GARDEN LOROPETLUM ARE ENTER PLANTED WITH CRATE MYRTLES AND ZEBRA GRASS AND IT MAKE A GLORIOUS BACK DROP TO PERRINIALS AND ROSES. THE PICTURE IS JUST AS BEAUTIFUL IN EVERY SEASON. I HOPE THAT IS WHAT THE EXPERTS CALL BONES. ALL I KNOW FOR SURE IS THAT IT WORKS FOR ME.

Sounds like you have a great garden design. The hardest part is to be able to keep the garden looking interesting all year long. Planting these plants in with the others you mentioned has helped you do that. Your garden must be lovely. Thanks for your comments.
