Exquisite, tiny and delicate blooms that make a white carpet. Think about how many blooms it takes to fill a one foot area. The white blooms enhance the colors of other plants and blooms. (San Antonio, Tx.)
I just love this plant! Nice detail of the blossom.
It smells so good and can enhanced so many areas. I received some seeds for the pink in trade last year and they grew at the end of my alyssum border along my front walk. They were much lower growing than the white. My alyssum are still blooming here in zone 5.
They don't reseed very much for me though, so I have to buy a flat of them each year. I was finally able to save some of the seeds from last year's plants and had enough babies to border my walk. People walking up the walk enjoy the aroma, especially in the fall.
Sometimes the plants with small blooms are overlooked. The blooms on the alyssum look so different when you get up close to them. I have tried to grow the pink, but they do not grow well in my beds. The white do not last past the first part of the summer in my yard. They can't take the heat I guess. Not only are they sweet smelling, I ahve always thought that they are "sweet looking" plant too. Thanks fror sharing the photo ... they look great along your walkway.
