I started with three plants, (pineapple bought from store and planted the tops)now I have about 50 in my backyard. Each plant produces 5-8 "suckers" or "offshoots". They grow good in a well drained, sandy soil ammended with horse manure.
What a delight! All started from just 3 plants! I never knew they spread like that. Wish they were hardy here. That pineapple on the nearest on looks like a flower in the thumbnail! Awesome! Thanks for the info and posting the picture.
