Chinese Lantern Plant, Strawberry Ground Cherry
Physalis alkekengi

Found this dense bush loaded with the husky fruits in Cape Canaveral, Florida (Zone 10a). This had been scanned from a 35-mm 4"X6" print.

Ooooh! Just look at all those fruits! I just ordered seeds for this plant. Thanks for posting it. Hopefully mine will look like that some day!

Did you order the Physalis peruviana (Cape Gooseberry)
or the P alkekengii?
I see the P alkekengii seed packets all the time
everywhere packet seeds are sold.

You know, Thauma, that is a good question! I ordered them from a seller on ebay and she didn't have any other name listed. I will ask her.
