Mexican Flame Vine, Orange Glow Vine
Senecio confusus

The blooms become more red before they go to seed. The blooms are starting to seed in the foreground. The petals have dried to the left with seeds forming. A full seedhead is in the middle. (San Antonio, Tx.)

This is a gorgeous vine. I don't think I have ever seen one. Are they difficult to find?

I have seen these in nurseries here a few times. I will go by where this plant is growing and obtain a seedhead. The owners are very nice and because I am going to take them some 'Sweet Memories' dew drop seeds, they told me the other day that I could have seeds from any of their plants. Their whole front yard and side yard is landscaped with native Texas plants and is a sight to behold.

I understand that this plant is a lot much easier to grow from cuttings. I have one plant and even though it produces hundreds of seeds, they don't seem to germinate.

Thanks for the information. I will ask the owners of this plant about what kind of luck they have had with seeds. Also, I'll research the subject.
