Stephanie, you had better water it twice a week, or more during the summer. And you would find it scarry if you saw how big this plant can get. It grows up to 20 meters tall, over than 60ft if Iīm not mistaken (probably more), and it banyans, I mean, it shoots aerial roots from the branches and trunk, and when they reach the soil, they start to get more and more thick, sometimes as thick as the trunk itself. It is reputed as a dangerous plant if planted near pavements, walls, houses, etc., as it will destroy anything on its way.

But Itīs a nice plant that behaves surprinsingly well as a house plant ^.^

First of all, put it in a place the children canīt reach it. It has a white sap that is toxic if ingested, and, in contact with the skin, it may burn, or even cause skin cancer if exposed under the sun for long time.

The second precaution is to keep the plant in a sunny place, or at least in light shade. I donīt know how much water it needs when cultivated as a house plant, but try watering it twice a week. If the leaves start to wilter, increase the watering a bit.
