My garden markers sort of dissapeared last year, that combined with planting too much in too little space, caused a few identification problems.
Below is a picture of a squash that grew in my garden. I think that it is a tricolor Cushaw from seed purchased at Baker Creek (my favorite source btw). The coloring is the same as pictured on their website, but all of my fruits were round in shape, having no neck, and the leaves were varigated. The varigated leaves were beautiful, but I doubt that they were suppose to be varigated. I only grew one plant, so I have nothing to compare it to.
I am about to pass on some of the seed to another gardener, but hesitate to do so because she wants "tricolor cushaw" as described in catalogs. I also am wondering if I should grow this again next year.
I would like your opinions on if this is a "virus", "mutation" or cross?
Thanks for any help.
