Can a rose heal itself if it is new growth and not broken all the way off??

Thanks Louisa I will try that. As of right now I have it leaning against the trelis where it will hold together. I sure hope it works because I had just planted this rose this year and the part that was semi-broken has three blooms coming out on it although even if it does heal itself I figure the blooms will not bloom will they?
