It is not so clear if this is the real striata, I have the impression you were taking this pic. in a Bot . Garden, but it can also be that they did a mistake because the real strata hase longitudal lines in the leaves, Without this lins it must be Aloe striata ssp. komaggasensis or ,but that is not so acceptable because the plant is VERY DIFFICULT in cultivation out of his natural country (S. Afrika), the Alkoe striata ssp. karasbergensis.

thanks for your comments. I will try to find out more about the Aloe striatas I have seen (all from Botanical Gardens here in So Cal). Not sure if they are coming in as seed or seedlings... sometimes the gardens are at the mercy of whomever is collecting them in the wild.. or else they can come from several generation old plants that have been inadvertently hybridized here in the US. Who knows. This plant does seem to have significant teeth, making it very likely to be some sore of hybrid at least, as A striata has no teeth.
