Where do you hale from Jeff? I used to live in Dallas, Texas and we had mahonia plants. Loved the fruit on them and really miss having Indian Hawthorne bushes and Nana Nandina bushes and Nandina Domestica plants here in Iowa. Crape Myrtle trees were a fav also - we are hoping for trees here in the future - the bushes are starting to appear here in Zone 5a. When in Dallas we could not grow peonies or lilacs though and I am happy to be able to grow them here. We just can't have it all I guess!!
