We have a very large pecan in the back yard and the catkins are all over the place which is bad enough but when the pecans outer shells fall they stain the cement,and fish pond. But with all the problems of a pecan tree, it is still one of the prettiest trees here. It provides great shade and is just a beautiful tree to look at.
