Regarding this photo and the other five photos of this cactus you have in this Opuntia monacantha page.
These six photos are of Opuntia stricta, because...
Opuntia monacantha flowers have a red stripe on the outer petals and your photos don't have the red stripe.
And also the spines and shape of the pad on your photos match that of Opuntia stricta according to the description and photo in the book "The Cactus Family" by Anderson.
Also, Opuntia monacantha is much more semi-prostrate than your plant appears to be.
