I planted a peony in a 14" pot last October. There are red "nubbies" showing through the ground. Is this what you look for on spring growth? Is there a possibility that it will flower this spring? I have a total of 6 little nubbies showing. Do I need to plant it in the ground? What do I fertilize with? I also planted tree peony type "Butterfly", it has sprouted, and has about 10 12" tall leaves. I put it in a 10" pot, do I need to get it into the ground as well, or leave it be until the fall?
