Love the color. Do they keep that rosy edge? I HAVE to get a yellow. all of mine are some degree of orange.

These keep developing the color as the bloom matures. I can't remember what it looks like when it is fully open. It did not bloom last year due to my leaving it out in freezing weather right when it was going to bloom. I will post a photo when the blooms open. It was supposed to be orange, but as I recall it was not truly orange 2 years ago. I just love to watch the blooms develop. Thanks for your comments.

Siggy, I have been checking every couple of days, but haven't seen any bud formation yet. I sure hope it does. I forgot to fertilize it in January as I had done last year. It has put out new leaves. Thanks for your comments.

Htop,

Do you give it a cooling dry period to trigger blooms?

David,

I leave the container outside all winter, but bring it inside during hard freezes. From about October to the middle of January, I do not water it very much. About the middle or end of January, I fertilize it once (if I remember to do so). At the end of February, I start watering it more often. Here is a link that provides some good information about the plant. By the way, it is a very slow grower and does not bloom until it is a fairly large plant. I had mine for about 4 or 5 years before it started to bloom.

If it does bloom I would love to trade seeds with you. I don't even care that it takes 5 years for a bloom.

In the years it has bloomed, for some reason, mine has never produced seeds unfortunately. If it does, I will let you know and will send you some.
