Not only am I new to Dave's Garden I'm new to bonsai. so I need help on several fronts. My most pressing question concerns a gift of a 10 year old banyan tree to try to train. This plant is in a plastic pot 8" deep and 6" diam. How do I get it into the shallow bonsai planter? I bought several books to learn but didn't find out much about root pruning so I did bought a smaller ficus to practice on. When I tried the pruning on the tester all the leaves died within a week (new growth has begun). I don't want to mess up the banyan. Can someone please help me? |
