I have an automatic dusk to dawn light that attracts moths. That would be okay, but the blackbirds (not my favorite bird at all) have a morning fest on the side of my house! My concern is mostly for the very large brown moths. The name escapes me, but I don't see them often.
The other morning I saw one hanging from the hummingbird feeder, right up next to the house. Figured it was safe there, since a bird would need to fly straight up tp get it.
WRONG! I found the wings later. ;-(
For a couple seasons now, if I see them on the house, I usually bring them in and release them in a wooded area after it warms in the morning.
Any one else do that? Or am I just being silly? I really love these moths. I have two of them inside tonight.
