There is a painting entitled "The Night Blooming Cereus" in Dr.
Robert J. Thornton's book Temple of Flora (1800) which looks a lot like this photo which you folks might like to look at. The entire book is at:

Even though these web addresses aren't "clickable" I hope there's enough information to find these paintings. They are gorgeous and I think I'll post this again for the Dodecatheon media I saw earlier in this forum - Thornton calls it the "American Cowslip.

I have this plant. It is only 2' tall now. How long did it take yours to get that tall/big?

It grows fairly fast, I suppose it took it probably a couple of years to get to big blooming size from a small cutting.
