Over 30 yo Asparagus Fern, saved from the trash when people moved. Loves sun! Water only when plant is dry, and then over water. Divides well. I've got 2 cats, and neither has been poisoned by it. 4 feet across in dimension after dividing it last spring, 2003.
This one is a 8 to 10 yr. old, and has died back very many times; as you can tell by the original container it is in. Check out the root ball mess; It's popping the container out! I'm really afraid to touch the roots; they're humungous. My boyfriend had let it get this way over the years, but I'm really the one who takes care of it. Talk about a plant with an attitude, it doesn't like to move; that's why it dies back.
