Can anyone tell me if there are tropical plants hardy to zone 5, Ohio? I would like a tropical look for around my pool. and I don't want to do container planting. I have tried some tropicals in the past and have brought them inside to winter, but that didn't work as i brought in a bunch of insects as well and no matter what i did to get rid of the bugs, they still remained.
I already have ornamental grasses around the pool but i am really looking for more tropical plants.
thanks and God bless you
