I have GR envy...have been looking at this plant for quite some time, but all the info says that I'm a poor candidate, or my yard is I should say.

It looks as though you have it in some pretty strong sun...yes? Where I would put it would be under some coconut palms that are next to my lake. That would mean that they get shade for the hot part of the day...what do you think????? do they have a chance here?????? Please say yes?????

Have a great day...ps...if not, enjoy yours for me.

Morning!

The tubers are planted in semi-soggy ground in a narrow strip next to our pond. Last year was the first year this was in the ground and the leaves shade the base of the plant. I'm treating it kind of like a Clematis (cool roots w/sun for the leaves/flowers)...the roots/tubers are shaded pretty much all day, although the leaves are in full sun til very late afternoon-early evening. It seems to be doing fine. It is in the only spot that was available and the plan is to dig the tubers when we move sometime next year.

Your spot sounds like it would work...what do you have to lose? If you don't try it, you will never know. :-)
