Last year I was hoping to save some seed from this; but, I never looked close enough and only seemed to find empty pods. This year I discovered why. If you look at the middle pod you can see a portion of the flower is curved out from the middle. As the flower dries, it forms a kind of catapault or spring which flings the seeds as far as 20 feet from the parent plant.
