We have a fledgling farmer's market just starting Saturdays on the square, and I think I want to participate. Since I have no space to have a vegatable garden this year, that leaves only home-canned things like preserves, flavored vinegars, and baked goods.
Do any of you sell sweet breads/cakes in the mini loaves, and if so, how do you price them?
I made some zucchini bread today and as best I can calculate cost of ingredients, it works out to around $1.50 per mini loaf. The pecans are the most costly ingredient. Unfortunately my batch today of zucchini bread is no good... that happens when the power goes off in the middle of baking, LOL!
How do you price half pint jars of jams, relish, etc?
We have LOTS of summer residents & tourists and I think they are hoping to draw from that group with some good advertising.
