I really like that. Would I have a chance on getting it to bloom as an annual here if I bought it as a plant or does it bloom too late in the season? Anything that would bloom in Sept is too late for me as we usually get some frost the end of Aug or beginning of Sept.

Hi broots,

Salvias are perennial and if you grew this in a container, and bring it in for the winter, it might make it. It just needs extremely full sun and it'll be happy.

Dave,

What type of camera did you use to capture this great image? Have you details to share? Thanks!

Kim,

I have the plant, but it did not set seeds last year. I wonder if it would come back true from seeds? I don't think this one is a hybrid so why wouldn't it?

Dave,

It looks fine to me with that lens you have. I use a dinosaur camera (Minolta X-700) of 22 year vintage, and very much need to invest in a nice macro zoom lens. I haven't ever taken a bad picture with the camera. I am always interested in what equipment other folks use. Thanks!
