Hi Onalee,
Could you tell me what kinds of camera and settings you used for this picture. I'm test growing some different ipomoeas and merremia's and would love to get better pictures than the ones I get with my old digital.

Hi Jan,
I took that with my old Kodak Easy Share DX4330 3.1 mp camera. I used the camera's auto focus on macro setting to take the picture.

I checked the properties of the original picture and it didn't record the aperature, etc. with the picutre, for some reason - but I always just us the auto focus on macro setting for all my seedling id's (and I take LOTS of them!) - it usually works fine unless the seedling is so small it can't focus on it properly, then I put something up behind it like a piece of paper or my hand or something so the camera can figure out where to focus. for larger seedlings, like morning glories though, it usually works great all on its own.

I usually try to take them in bright shade (not direct sunlight), they seem to come out best that way.

take care,

Onalee
