Does Agave franzoainii grow larger than Agave americana? Also I have 1 pad of Opuntia Robusta that I planted last week. Any ideas on how long it will need to establish?

Welcome aboard 60bugs! I've read that A. franzonainii gets 15' in diameter!!! A. americana gets 8' to 10'.

Congrats on your O. robusta! It's one of my favorite prickly pears. My experience is that it takes a month or two for a fresh cutting to start growing roots.

60bugs,
If the robusta or most prickly pears, I've had root in 3-5 weeks in springtime, and then immediately shoot out a new stem segment. But, I cheat a little and water it every 2 weeks, deeply, especially when the temp reaches above 95F. (and it'll sunburn & rot if it's in the direct sun and can't take in water)

TJ,
The A. americana's I've seen here, usually only get 5-6 feet high at most, It must be the climate I guess.
