These are immature pods, aren't they. They usually turn brown and split open on their own and contain beige to brown seed in a papery covering inside.

My "Madam Galen" is doing very well in Zone 5a. This is the first year it has set pods and I am wondering if I can plant the seeds from the pods? I know they will not come true to "Madam Galen" but would they be worth trying? Is there a special way of planting them, for instance do they need cold treatment?
