A few years back, I purchased a package of marigold seeds from Thompson & Morgan. The cultivar was 'Mr. Majestic'. It is a pinwheel type with gold and mahogany stripes to the petals. They are very showy little single petaled marigolds, and work quite well in my beds. I assumed they were a new cultivar, but now find they are actually an old variety. This year, I started some Harlequin marigold, and they are very similar, but taller. There is also a Striped Marvel, I believe. Does anyone know the history of these marigolds?
