I need some help with this. I dug up some irises that I had planned to move because they weren't doing very well. When I exposed the corms, I noticed grubs as big as my thumb wriggling out of them. Somewhere, somebody was talking about a 9-1 solution of water to bleach. I put them in a bucket with this, but need to know what I do next. How long do they sit in the bucket? Actually, from the time I went for the bucket, water and bleach, and came back, the grubs had left. I don't know if a bird ate them or they buried themselves. I don't want to re-plant these irises near any other irises now as I'm afraid they'll all be infected, if they aren't already. If you have any experience with this problem, I would appreciate your suggestions.
