I just realized I haven't posted on my markets in a little bit. I've been so busy and tired!!! Not much going on, the markets have been very busy, all 3 markets and all 3 days. I believe we've finally come full circle in our small town.

The talk of the town is Tomato Pies, Cantaloupes, and...Salsa. I can't keep the salsa at the market, sells out right away. Cantaloupes are in between plantings right now and people are anxious for the next batch!!! And...if I thought that "my friend from the fair" hurt me as far as tomato pies go, I was wrong!!! They want them every market day now and with as busy as I've been, I'm not sure I can fill that bill. I've hired a friend that is a chef to help me in the kitchen now, I've been that busy.

One thing that we've added for sale is free-range chicken and fresh pork sausage patties and ground sausage. I sell them out very quickly and the demand is amazing. I told Ralph we need to raise more. We've not been able to get eggs from our friends, so we are going to purchase egg laying hens again and have our own for next year...Ughhhh, just the thought of washing those eggs again (like I need more to do)!!! :)

Our turkeys are looking great for Thanksgiving delivery and they are now running all over the yard; we have beef going to the processor in a few weeks and we are getting ready to put up fence so we can put our pigs at our farm now. We are also hoping to get some sheep as everyone has been asking us for lamb. Perhaps we should go in the meat business and not the veggies...ha, ha..

Weather has been somewhat cooperative, we have had windy days, but no rain, although it threatened to do that yesterday. I have to tie down my tents now and we purchased a trailer to hold them down. Did I mention it was 16 foot? :) Our days have been cooler, 50s in the morning and 70s during the day, so I have been just "soaking" [no pun intended] up the nice weather.

Well, off to another busy day. Hope yours is great and the sun shines. Until next time...Happy Day, Kathy
