A friend made a wood storage shed from factory-second garage door panels, which gave me an idea!
I'm going to make raised beds next year for my vegetable garden, they'll be just perfect! They're 21" by 9/10 or 12 feet (garage door width). They can be sawed to make the ends. I have fabric from my green house and can make hoops out of rebar to cover the beds to get my veggies in early. My one concern is that the insulation in them may cause the soil to get too hot in the summer. I may need a reflective coating of some sort. The bottom will have to have hardware cloth to keep out the critters.
I'm excited! I have looked for a viable solution for making raised beds without spending all my hard earned duckies on cedar and such for a long l-o-n-g time!!
