The fruit is a berry which is encased in a spiny capsule. Note moth on left bur.

Hi, Buttoneer. It has been a long time since we have communicated. I remeber the picytures of snow up therewhen you needed to go to a family party and a crafts show last winter. Unfortunately, this plant was in aa field that was bulldozed and all of the plants were destroyed. I will be on the lookout for another plant. If I find some seeds I will let you know. The blooms are beautiful, but the stickers are sharp.

Hi, Well, we're in that show again but no charge. The committee just told us we could use what we paid for 2003 for 2004. Lost 2 shows last weekend and this Saturday. Hegins was too windy & rainy (Ivan) and New Cumberland was flooded out (also due to Ivan), so we're frantically looking for another show for this Saturday. We are already in another show on Sunday. That's a shame about the bulldozing but it seems to be a way of life. I am growing Solanums now and it seems that most or all of them are spiny.
