I bought some of this ...it is so beautiful it looks like handmade ...cut paper... It almost didn't look real...I guess it is the opaqueness of it... i surely want a "bunch" of these somewhere next year... I bought a couple for my daughter...my grandaughter 's colors are lavender : ..".lavender blue " are you old enough to remember the song I believe by Bobby Vinton fro m the sixties if you're not ...find it ..it is sweet..that's the first time I have thought of it in years hee hee

Hello Delphinium46, thank you for your response. I think this plant is wonderful too.
I hope you will plant a lot of them and have a wonderful time next fall admiring them.
Be sure to plant them where they will get as much sun as possible, I have some in part shade and they didn't do as well.
Sincerely, Josephine.

I found something that looks exactly like this on a country road here in Oklahoma, but it doesn't have any smell to it whatsoever. The blooms are 3/4" to 1" across. Could this be it?

It could very well be, there are many kinds of Asters, this plant is about 2 feet tall and is totally covered with flowers. The plants get top heavy and usually lay flat on the ground. You could probably take a cutting from that plant, they usually root quite easily. These flowers have no scent either but the foliage does have an aroma. I hope I helped.
Sincerely, Josephine.

That sure sounds like it. I've noticed I have a lot of this kind of stuff in the field next to me but not this color and the blooms are smaller. This one really caught my eye. I stopped and found a plant with a lot of seeds on it, then pulled a few branches with flowers on it to help me identify it. It looked like it got to about 2 feet high and some of them were laying over. But no smell at all. Oh well, can't have it all, huh? I'll look up Fall Aster's and see what I can come up with, don't know why I didn't think of that to begin with.
