There's another stem that has come up, and it's a completely diff plant, go figure. fancy leaf is the one on the left, their in the same pot.

Platinum constantly sends up non-variegated shoots. They are much more vigorous than the variegated form, they do root, but often become variegated again.

I'd just remove it as low as possible and move on.
