I was wondering what the identifying characteristics are to
distinguish a 'Lanceleaf' Coreopsis from a 'Threadleaf'. I believe that mine is similiar to yours but I have labeled it as
the threadleaf. Yours is simply beautiful!!
Hello Randy, thank you for noticing my picture.
I have searched and this is what I found. One variety of Threadleaf coreopsis or Greenthread has a maroon center and yellow petals and the latin name is ; Thelesperma Filifolium.
There is another kind of Greenthread called; Thelesperma flavodiscum, and this one has a yellow center, so it seems that if your is all yellow it would be the second one. This one says, the leaves are opposite, mostly near the base of the stem, once or twice divided into threadlike segments, about three inches long.
Well, I hope I helped.
Sincerely, Josephine.
