I call this my Valentine poppy. It has grown even more spectacular with the season. Do you know what kind it is?

That looks like a Shirley poppy to me - papaver rhoaes. Very pretty color!

I'll second Papaver rhoeas and if I may, venture a name, there is a mixture supplied by various catalogues called Angels Choir, this one looks just like one of these, failing that it could be P rhoeas 'picotee mix' which is selected from Angels Choir. Good name for the poppy I think

Thank you poppysue and Baa. How can you tell the different poppies apart? There are so many different kinds I find it very confusing.
