They didn't survive the winter. I think they got too much water. Anyway, I want to try them again. I know that they are considered very invasive in wetter tropical countries like Cuba, but I think that they would be fine in San Diego. I love this tree...just don't dare planting in ground, I can't afford planting something that might be invasive. I don't even have mine in the ground...can't risk it being invasive. If it is not "allowed" for you, it is probably due to the fact that is suckers...It would not be a risk in a pot...just a thought... ...mine(the one in the picture) is in a 25 gallon pot. I only know of one source to buy the seedlings/saplings and NONE that sell the seeds. It is still quite rare here in the US. They will bloom if bonsai-d, but need to be kept outdoors to bloom. Indoor light or even supplemental light is not enough. boots-sorry, I wish you were allowed to have them...I think you'd enjoy one... _T
