We have a planting similar to this except they may be closer together since they are nearly 14 yrs. old. We have a problem similar to that displayed on the front plant in this picture. The limbs are dying out or diseased. Our landscaper has been treating this by just cutting out the dead areas, so now the plants are horribly distorted. Do you know whether this is caused by disease, if so, what, or if this is due to the age of the plants? Any information would be appreciated.
