This has invaded our yard, gardens and is chocking out our flowers. How does one get rid of it where we don't want it. Is it edible?

pmsmay, are you sure you are referring to the same plant? Have you seen the other images of this when you click on the link at the top? It is a HUGE plant, leaves 3-6 +feet across!
