The first spring after I planted my Corsican Hellebore, I found rotted foliage and thought it had died, but it came back shortly after, and grew nicely. The second spring (last year), only a few lower leaves had died, but the rest of the foliage remained green throughout the winter, under the snow. It grew much larger last summer. I was in my backyard yesterday and saw rotted foliage again, as previous snowfalls have all melted away. Is this normal for the foliage to rot? I had heard that it was an evergreen perennial. Will it come back again and be happy in the spring? Does anyone know how to make this newbie feel better?? Here she is last summer. [HYPERLINK@davesgarden.com]
Thanks!
Christine.
