I love irises and think re-blooming iris are an important trend of the future. However, many will not rebloom in my zone 6 mountain property. Then I found Nicholl's Iris Gardens on-line. They carefully mark each iris that reblooms for them in their cooler climate with ** . Other rebloomers for warmer climates are marked with just one *. Nicholl's has a good rating in the GardenWatch forum.
If you read the plant discriptions, you can even find some that will bloom continuously after the rebloom starts July-August until frost. This is where I'm spending my money this year. My daughter has a pink intermediate that blooms in the spring, as usual, and then starts again about August and kept blooming until frost. It was given to her by an older lady and she doesn't know the name but we should be able to identify in the iris forum.
