A nice picture of a great plant. We are fortunate to have this growing naturally here in my locale.
One year I harvested a lot of the steel gray foliage in late fall and arranged it with dried roses. It lasted for years!
In high school (a long time ago, ha) I picked one of the flower bunches and wore it as a corsage. It got many rave comments until late in the evening, when the flowers turned rather black, LOL.
I need to collect seed and start some more. The highway department here has eliminated most of them growing along the roads. Of course, we are not allowed to dig them up, anyway...but it is fine if they demolish them! (That is a sore point with me, I guess you can tell.)
