Golden Barrel Cactus
Echinocactus grusonii

I've owned him for about 6 years. Cactus had been in a wooden barrel. Today it was removed from barrel and moved to different place. Dirt has been removed from lower parts in spines. 6.5 ft in circumference!

Congratulations on his new home! No small task, eh? That's a great grouping.
6.5 feet is his circumference, right?

Hi Jen,
No small task indeed! I've uploaded 13 pictures where you can view the process. Yes, I've edited diameter to circumference. lol

I love the slideshow - though I want one more picture... the one between picture 8 and picture 9. You know, the one with colorful language. :)

HAHAH... actually there was none. :)

All 3 guys acted with dignity and took great pride in this endeavor. I think they were amazed at how heavy he was due to all the rain we had last month - estimated about 350 pounds.

(Reminder to self - must water over the weekend if we don't have rain.)
