Urn Plant, Silver Vase Bromeliad, Aechmea
Aechmea fasciata

From one original purchased Urn Plant, I have had great success with this indoors (south/west window)...the 1st plant gave me 3 pups...then I got 6...and I am now awaiting 12 new plants to bloom!

They look absolutely beautiful in a colony like that.

Awesome!
I've never seen them like that. Are they still attached or are they separated from the mother?
I've never had success at removing the pups.
Great pic!

Sprite,
I have one that's blooming outside like yours. It's in an old washing machine tub (with the holes in it). I've not gotten close to it at all, as its up high in the corner, and I'm feeling stuck already by those thorny spikes! However, I want to do a bit of housekeeping on it, but don't want to kill it (Like I destroyed the bloom on a Bird of Paradise when I opened it up to divide it!)

Please post pics if you can of what the pups look like and where and how to divide them from the mother plant. Also, what do you repot the pups in after they're removed? Thanks for all your advice, in advance.
