I'm looking for some advice on repairing the damage to my Japanese Maple. I was planting her and trying to situate her just right when the trunk split about 4 " from the base of the tree. The trunk comes up off of the ground 4" then the 2 main parts of the tree branch out. The split is about 1-2 inches long, and both branches are still upright. I tied twine about a foot up the tree to close the hairline gap that formed. Any would be appreciated...
Thanks!
